Scales
Scales
Scales are the tools that musicians use for writing melodies and for improvising.
They are the foundation of practical music making.
A scale is a series of notes that are arranged in a specific order from the lowest note to the highest note.
The note lowest in pitch is called the keynote (or tonic).
The last note of the scale is the same as the first, but higher, and is called the octave.
